A superfluous life
Cut short by a knife?
That's not what you are.
You're a shining star.
You haven't yet even begun to fly,
So, do me a favor and please don't die.
I've been burned in fires and drowned in rain.
I know sorrow and I know pain.
Watching my own grandfather die
Cut me to the heart, I had to cry.
You may not believe me when I say this is true,
But just imagine if this happened to you.
